Who wouldn’t want to travel? Who wouldn’t want to see the world-famous landmarks? I bet everyone has a bucket list, hoping one day to cross out each one. But what stops us from traveling? What hinders us from doing what is truly right for our soul, our existence? Do we stay right where we are?
What Are The Reasons Why People Do Not Travel?
We have to admit the fact that we need an abundant amount of money before we can travel. We have to consider all the expenses: airfare, hotel accommodation, food, souvenirs, miscellaneous (like when you run out of clothes). Traveling is expensive, and not all of us can afford it. Many people are surviving from paycheck to paycheck and do not have extra to save for luxuries.
You are lucky when you do not need to work to live. It is true for people who were born into wealthy families. Working for them is an option and of course expectation. They have loads of time to see the world because it wouldn’t affect how they earn. They don’t need to be in the office 8 to 9 hours a day, and they do not need to ask permission from a boss. Regular employees get paid by the hours, so time is literally gold.
Health is usually an issue for people with age. People from the age 35 onwards may suffer health conditions which affect their energy or tolerance for the long travel time, going up and down staircases, long walks, or the heat of the sun. Some may have severe anxiety which can cause them to fear the crowd or anything they deem dangerous like elevators, enclosed spaces, and the beach.
Some people have a fear of being away from home or family. Some experience anxiety and panic attacks when faced with unfamiliar people and situations that’s why they tend to stay at home. They do not want to be in a different place because they are afraid that they may have panic attacks. People with anxiety need to consult a doctor.
Whether we love to travel or not, we should all realize that the world is enormous, and whenever we feel alone and trapped, we have a choice to move and see different places. There are travel quotes which say all we need to hear that may inspire us and make us decide once and for all.
